After the Philippines, the next stop of Brave Combat Federation is Jordan. The 23rd show of the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion will take place in the home country of Abdul-Kareem “Pride of Palestine” Al-Selwady, 23, and Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26.
Al-Selwady is the reigning Brave CF Lightweight Champion while Al Selawe is the reigning Brave CF Welterweight Champion. They were both on the card of “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises,” the first Brave CF event to take place in Jordan.
Featuring 11 MMA bouts, “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises” took place at the Prince Hamzah Sporting Hall in Amman, Jordan on March 2, 2018. Al-Selwady defeated Charlie Leary, 35, of England via unanimous decision in the ninth bout of the evening while Al-Selawe submitted David Bear, 28, of France via triangle choke in the co-main event.
In April 2019, Brave CF will hold “Brave 23” in Amman. This will be the promotion’s second event in 2019 following “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors,” which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
The main event and fight card of “Brave 23” are yet to be announced but fans can expect a taste of the best international talents in the Brave CF roster plus the biggest local stars in MMA. With Jordan’s electric environment and a second-to-none loud and active crowd, a return to the country has been in the promotion’s plans for a while.
“We have been talking about returning to Jordan since the moment we wrapped up ‘Brave 10’ last March,” Brave CF president Mohammed Shahid said. “Jordan is one of the biggest talent-pools not only in the Middle East but in the entire world. Developing this potential is a crucial part of our plan to create a new ecosystem for the sport of MMA. That’s why we are back and we couldn’t be more excited about it.”
Meanwhile, Shahid and his team are currently busy preparing for “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” Marking Brave CF’s debut in the Philippines, it will be headlined by reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, of the Philippines and his challenger, ormer Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France.
