Eldar Eldarov vs Mounir Lazzez for Brave CF Super Lightweight Championship at ‘Brave 23’ in Amman, Jordan

Brave Combat Federation is officially including super lightweight in its weight classes. The first bout in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion’s new division is between Eldar “Khan” Eldarov, 27, of Russia and Mounir “The Sniper” Lazzez, 31, of Tunisia.

The Association of Boxing Commissions approved the super lightweight division with an upper limit set at 165 lbs (74.8 kg) on July 26, 2017. On April 19, 2019, Eldarov and Lazzez will compete in the new division at “Brave 23” at the Al-Hussein Youth City Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan.

Brave CF has confirmed that the Eldarov and Lazzez will not only inaugurate the new category. They will also compete for the first ever championship belt of the division.

Holding a professional MMA record of 10 wins and 1 loss, Eldarov has been consistently one of the top contenders in Brave CF’s lightweight and welterweight divisions. The only opponent he lost to was his his longtime friend and KHK MMA teammate Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, 30, of Russia.

On the other hand, Lazzez is an undefeated fighter with 7 wins. When he made his BraveCF debut at “Brave 16” at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and did not disappoint the fans as he knocked out Dmitrijs “Dima” Homjakovs, 30, of Sweden.

The super lightweight bout between Eldarov and Lazzez is the third title fight announced for “Brave 23.” Two hometown heroes are set to defend their respective championship titles.

Reigning Brave Combat Federation Lightweight Champion Abdul-Kareem “Pride of Palestine” Al-Selwady, 23, of Jordan will defend his title for the first time. He will be challenged by Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Brazil at “Brave 23.”

Like Al-Selwady, reigning Brave CF Welterweight Champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan is also defending his belt for the first time. Undefeated fighter Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 23, of France and Russia will challenge the Jordanian champion at “Brave 23.”

“Brave 23” will be the second visit of the Brave CF to Jordan. The first one was at “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises,” which took place at the Prince Hamzah Sporting Hall in Amman on March 2, 2018.
