Chamuaktong Fightermuaythai, 30, of Thailand was one of the winners at “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. It was his second win in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.
“ONE: Clash of Legends” is the first ONE Championship event in Thailand in 2019 and it featured five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts. In the fourth bout of the evening, Chamuaktong faced Charlie Peters, 29, of the United Kingdom in a Muay Thai bout at a catch weight of 67.5 kg.
Elias Dolaptsis served as the referee of the catchweight bout between Chamuaktong and Peters. Both men employed fiery offense over the course of three rounds with the British contender utilizing his speed and accuracy to connect on a handful of crisp strikes.
In the third round, Chamuaktong turned the tide, driving hard knees to the midsection to drop Peters to the canvas. The knockdown tipped the balance in favor of the Thai fighter as two of the three judges saw him as the victor on their scorecards.
In the end, Dolaptsis raised the hand of Chamuaktong. The Thai fighter was declared the winner via majority decision.
Including Thailand and the U.K., 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” The other countries were Cambodia, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea and the United States.
