Two-time Lumpinee Muay Thai World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9, 23, of Thailand defeated Lao Chetra, 19, of Cambodia at “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. Both fighters made their debuts in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.
“ONE: Clash of Legends” is the first ONE Championship event in Thailand in 2019 and it featured five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts. In the fifth bout of the evening, Superlek and Lao competed in an Muay Thai bout in the flyweight division.
Atsushi Onari served as the referee. In a battle between ONE Super Series debutants, Superlek emerged victorious, putting on a striking masterclass to defeat Lao.
Armed with world-class striking skills, Superlek overwhelmed Lao unloading a barrage of lashing kicks to the legs and body. After three three-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges.
In the end, Onari raised the hand of Superlek. The Kiatmoo9 Gym athlete was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Including Thailand and Cambodia, 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” The other countries were China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
