His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa is set to make his return to the ring. On February 15, 2019, the Bahraini prince who founded mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation took to Instagram to announce that he is fighting for 100 boxing rounds with all the earnings coming from the challenge being destined to benefit charity.
The Bahraini prince is known for leading by example and embracing his initiatives and he is no stranger to competing in combat sports. He won two MMA bouts in Bahrain.
In 2016, Sheikh Khalid successfully made his MMA debut with a first-round knockout. In 2017, he competed again and improved his professional MMA record to 2 wins and 0 loss.
In 2018, Sheikh Khalid changed the small MMA gloves to the 12oz ones and stepped into the ring for his first boxing match. In a contest also held in Bahrain, he won via unanimous decision.
Sheikh Khalid is also the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports of Bahrain. Apart from his personal endeavors in the combat sports and his pivotal role in getting Brave CF to the top of the MMA world, he is also the founder of KHK MMA, KHK Sports and KHK Boxing.
