Phoe “Bushido” Thaw, 34, of Myanmar was one of the winners at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” It marked the seventh victory of the Burmese mixed martial artist in ONE Championship.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” took place at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on March 8, 2019 and it was the first ONE Championship event in 2019 held in the country. In the co-main event of the evening, Phoe faced “The Iceman” Yohan Mulia Legowo, 38, of Indonesia in an MMA match in the featherweight division.

Thaw found himself in some precarious situations early but managed to escape from mount and a number of submission attempts. Momentum shifted in favor of the hometown favorite as he gained dominant position and punished Legowo with thunderous punches to earn the stoppage win late in the opening round.

Olivier Coste served as the referee. He put a stop to the contest after 4 minutes and 56 seconds in the first round when the Burmese contender knocked out his Indonesian opponent via punches.

Winning at “ONE: Reign of Valor” improved Thaw’s professional MMA record to 7 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Legowo now has 8 wins and 8 losses.

Training out of Team PT and Fight for Good, Thaw successfully bounced back from his first and only loss as a professional MMA fighter. Before Legowo, the first six opponents the Burmese fighter defeated in ONE Championship were Kyal Sin Hoo, Saw Llay, Kat Pali, Saw Yan Paing, Saw Ba Oo and Sor Sey.

At “ONE: Reign of Valor,” Thaw was one of the three hometown heroes on the card. Legowo was the sole representative of Indonesia.
