Basil George Taylor was a Jamaican man who lived in Lake Wales, Polk County, Florida, United States. The city is home to Camp Mack, the Dixie Walesbilt Hotel, Spook Hill and Chalet Suzanne.
One of the athletes born in Lake Wales is Robert Lee Tobeck. He played in the National Football League for the Atlanta Falcons from 1993 to 1999 and for the Seattle Seahawks from 2000 to 2006.
