Can Jarrah Al-Selawe break Abdoul Abdouraguimov’s undefeated record at ‘Brave 23’ in Amman, Jordan?

When reigning Brave Combat Federation Welterweight Champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan defends his title for the first time, a whole nation will be with him. He will meet undefeated grappler Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 23, of France in the main event of “Brave 23” at the Al Hussein Youth City, Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall (Boxing Arena) in Amman, Jordan on April 19, 2019.

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts bouts, “Brave 23” is the second Brave CF event to be held in Jordan. The first one was “Brave 10,” which took place at the Prince Hamzah Sports Hall in Amman, Jordan on March 2, 2018.

At “Brave 10,” Al-Selawe submitted grappler David Bear, 27, of France via triangle choke. On May 11, 2018, the Jordanian MMA fighter defeated Tahar “Fast Hands” Hadbi, 30, of Algeria at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” at Balai Sarbini in Jakarta, Indonesia via unanimous decision.

On September 12, 2018, Al-Selawe became the new Brave CF Welterweight Champion. He dethroned former champion and Brazilian grappling discipline Luta Livre standout Carlston “Mocambique” Harris, 31, of Guyana at “Brave 16” at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Undefeated in Brave CF, Al-Selawe currently holds the record for most wins in the promotion with 6 wins. He holds a professional MMA record of 13 wins and 2 losses.

One of the most versatile MMA figures, Al-Selawe has shown incredible improvements in his overall game, making him one of the most dangerous fighters in the world. In order to maintain the Brave CF Welterweight Championship title, he needs to go through Abdouraguimov, who has impressed since signing with the biggest promotion in the Middle East.

Since signing with Brave CF, Al-Selawe has been able to neutralize all of his six previous Brave CF opponents, who are all world-class strikers. A complete and well-rounded athlete, he has used his wrestling and grappling prowess against his opponents.

Al-Selawe is ready to use his wrestling and grappling prowess again in an attempt to take the undefeated tag off of Abdouraguimov. A devastating grappler known for his brutal ground and pound, the French-Russian phenom has been flawless in his two Brave CF outings.

When Abdouraguimov made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 14” at the Omnisports Indoor Club of Tangier in Tangier, Morocco on August 18, 2018, he outwrestled Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 21, of the United States. On October 27, 2018, the undefeated French-Russian MMA fighter defeated Rodrigo Cavalheiro, 35, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil at “Brave 17” at the Nistar Park Sports Complex in Lahore, Pakistan.

Abdouraguimov showed improvements in the stand-up department, using strong leg kicks to measure the distance and confusing his rival. As Al-Selawe is comfortable in more areas, the reigning Brave CF Welterweight Champion will probably look to stay on the outside at “Brave 23” and pepper his French-Russian challenger with jabs and quick straight punches as well as try to avoid his ground game.

But even if Abdouraguimov is successful in taking the fight to the ground, Al-Selawe has proven he has great Jiu-Jitsu from bottom position. The Jordanian champ’s triangle choke submission of Bear is a proof of that.
