Featuring 13 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC 236” took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on April 13, 2019. In the third bout of the evening, Jackson faced Laotian-American MMA fighter Andre “The Asian Sensation” Soukhamthath, 30, of Lake Worth, Florida, USA in the bantamweight division with Jason Herzog as the referee.
After three five-minute rounds, the bantamweight contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Herzog raised the hand of Jackson, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Judges Ken Coffey, Anthony Maness and Will Fisher scored the bout 30-26, 30-27 and 29-27 all in favor of Jackson. It was the third unanimous decision victory of the evening.
Winning at “UFC 236” improved Jackson’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Soukhamthath now has 13 wins and 7 losses.
Jackson has been competing professionally since 2017. On June 12, 2018, he knocked out Rico DiSciullo, 32, of Peabody, Massachusetts, USA via knee and punches in “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series” Season 2 episode 1.
When Jackson made his official UFC debut at “UFC 227” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA, he lost via unanimous decision to Ricky Simon, 26, of Vancouver, Washington, USA. On December 29, 2018, the Milwaukee native redeemed himself by submitting Brian “Boom” Kelleher, 32, of Selden, New York, USA via brabo choke at “UFC 232″ at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Born on April 24, 1992 in Milwaukee, Jackson is training out of Pura Vida BJJ and MMA in Milwaukee. He stands 5’10” and has a 75.5″ reach.
Including the U.S., six countries were represented at “UFC 236.” The other countries are Brazil, Germany, Nigeria, Russia and Ukraine.
