Fighting out of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Irene “Robles” Aldana, 31, was one of the winners at “UFC 237.” It was her third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC 237” took place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro on May 11, 2019. In the eighth bout of the evening, Aldana fought Bethe “Pitbull” Correia, 35, of Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil at a catch weight of 141 lbs with Eduardo Herdy as the referee.

Herdy put a stop to the catchweight bout after 3 minutes and 32 seconds. Aldana submitted Correia via armbar.

Winning at “UFC 237″improved Aldana’s professional MMA record to 10 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Correia now has 10 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw.

Correia and Aldana were originally scheduled to face each other at “UFC 227” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on August 4, 2018. The match was pulled from the card because the Brazilian contender suffered an injury.

“UFC 237” marked Aldana’s fifth UFC outing. The opponents she defeated in the promotion before Correia were Talita Bernardo, 32, of Rio de Janeiro and Lucie Pudilova, 24, of Příbram, Czech Republic.

Born on March 26, 1988 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, Aldana has been competing professionally since 2012. By beating Correia at “UFC 237,” the Mexican MMA fighter is now riding a three-bout winning streak.

Training out of Lobo Gym MMA in Guadalajara, Aldana joined the UFC in 2016. She lost to Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith, 36, of Pleasant Hill, California, USA via unanimous decision at “UFC on Fox 22” at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on December 17, 2016 and to Katlyn “Blonde Fighter” Chookagian, 30, of Jersey City, New Jersey, USA via split decision at “UFC 210” on April 8, 2017 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, USA.

While Correia was one of the 14 fighters who represented the Brazil at “UFC 237,” Aldana solely represented Mexico. The other countries represented were Argentina, Australia, Peru and the United States.
