Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 25, of Stockholm, Sweden wants to become a champion in three different weight classes. He is one of the undefeated mixed martial artists signed with Bahrain-based MMA promotion Brave Combat Federation.
Currently, Chimaev holds a professional MMA record of 5 wins and 0 loss. On May 14, 2019, he took to Instagram to express his interest in reigning in three divisions namely super lightweight, welterweight and middleweight.
Eldar “Khan” Eldarov, 27, of Bahrain became the inaugural Brave Super Lightweight World Champion at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” on April 19, 2019 at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan. In the same event, Abdoul “The Conqueror” Abdouraguimov, 23, of France became the new Brave CF Welterweight World Champion by dethroning then champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan.
Also at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor,” Chimaev earned his third Brave CF victory. He knocked out Ikram Aliskerov, 26, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia via uppercut in the welterweight division.
When Chimaev made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 18” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena on November 16, 2018, he knocked out Marko Kisič of Vienna, Australia via punches in the welterweight division. The Swedish fighter did not have a bout scheduled after his debut win so he jumped at the chance of competing in the middleweight division of “Brave 20,” replacing Leon Aliu, 29, of Italy who was injured with only nine days notice.
“Brave 20” took place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India on December 22, 2018. In the main event, Chimaev knocked out Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 22, of Georgia, United States via strikes.
Born on May 1, 1994, Chimaev is of Chechen descent. He trains at Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, Sweden with several light heavyweight MMA fighters.
Brave CF has yet to crown a middleweight world champion and Chimaev could be the first one. Meanwhile, watch the bout between the undefeated Swedish MMA fighter and Wheeler here:
