Fighting out of Campos dos Goytacazes, Brazil, Leonardo “Lamparão” Santos, 39, was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 153.” It was the Brazilian mixed martial artist’s sixth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Featuring 12 MMA matches, “UFC Fight Night 153” took place at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden on June 1, 2019. In the fifth bout of the evening, Santos fought Stevie “Braveheart” Ray, 29, of Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland in the lightweight division with Marc Goddard as the referee.
In the first minute of the bout, both Santos and Ray tried to get acclimated to each other. Goddard put a stop to the contest after 2 minutes and 17 seconds when the Brazilian contender knocked out his Scottish opponent via a single right hand.
Winning at “UFC Fight Night 153” improved the professional MMA record of Santos to 17 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Ray now has 22 wins and 9 losses.
Born on February 5, 1980 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Santos was only 5 years old when he started training Jiu Jitsu. As an MMA fighter, he has been competing professionally since 2002.
