Buluan, Maguindanao’s Resham Saeed is Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2019

Pakistani-Filipino host and model Resham Saeed, 25, of Buluan, Maguindanao was one of the six queens crowned at the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 coronation night. She was named Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2019.

Saeed was crowned by Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2018 Jehza Mae Huelar, 24, of Davao City, Philippines. The latter made it to the Top 10 at Miss Supranational 2018.

Hosted by Richard Gutierrez, Anne Curtis and Nicole Cordoves, the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 coronation night took place at Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on June 9, 2019. It was the 56th edition of the national female beauty pageant of the Philippines.

A total of 40 Filipino women competed for six crowns. The winners will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2019, Miss International 2019, Miss Supranational 2019, Miss Grand International 2019, Miss Intercontinental 2019 and Miss Globe 2019.

Quezon City mayor-elect Joy Belmonte served as the chairman of the board of judges. Her fellow judges were actors Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, James Reid, Daniel Padilla and Nadine Lustre, basketball player Christian Standhardinger, Grab Philippines president Brian Cu, president of Asia at Alorica Inc. Rainerio Borja, ABS-CBN vice president for television Bobby Barrero, Ambassador of Italy to the Philippines Giorgio Guglielmino and Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines Jorge Moragas.

It was Cu who asked Saeed in the question and answer portion. He asked, “Recently migration and migrating became the most searched words on Google. What would you like to say to those disheartened Filipinos who seem to have lost hope for our country?”

“I would say that history has shown us that Filipinos are very good at remaining steadfast despite any hardships or any violent shown towards us,” Saeed answered. “We do not stand for discrimination and I would say that if you’ve lost your way, turn back to God and walk towards him.”

In 2017, Saeed was crowned Miss Philippines Canada. Aside from winning the Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2019 title, she also made it to the Top 10 of Best in National Costume.
