On July 15, 2019, Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov, 32, of Russia and Ireland took to Twitter to challenge Amir “King” Khan, 32, of England, Adrian “The Problem” Broner, 29, of the United States and Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao, 40, of the Philippines. A friend of Conor “The Notorious” McGregor, 31, of Ireland, the Russian-Irish mixed martial artist challenged Brave Combat Federation to pit him against any of the three boxers.
Born in Gorky, Russia, Lobov is based in Dublin, Ireland. He and McGregor are training at Straight Blast Gym Ireland in Dublin.
Lobov has not been shy in challenging a few of boxing’s top names. Initially, Khan was the sole focus for the SBG Ireland athlete, who will attend “Brave 24: London.”
Brave CF will hold “Brave 24: London” on July 25, 2019 at the Copper Box Arena, inside the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in London, England. It is a historic show set to connect the top of the MMA world with the highest level of influencers, celebrities, politicians and businessmen.
Lobov is expected to seek a meeting with Brave CF president Mohammed Shahid at “Brave 24: London.” The latter himself has said that he would like to make the bout between Lobov and Khan happen.
The bout was targeted by Lobov’s coach John Kavanagh for November 2019 during the International Combat Week. Hosted by Brave CF, it is the largest combat sports festival in Asia.
Also, Lobov wanted to meet Khan at “Brave 24: London.” But the British boxer will not be attending the show anymore as he has urgent matters to attend to on July 25, 2019.
This was not the first time Lobov and Khan had a beef on social media. They also exchanged words on Twitter in 2017.
If Lobov is looking to sign on to fight for Brave CF, “Brave 24: London” is certainly the place to be as the promotion has announced some of the biggest names in combat sports for the United Kingdom and beyond will be attending the show.
All from England, Brad “One Punch” Pickett, 40, Chris “Next Gen” Eubank Jr., 29, Aaron “The Joker” Chalmers, 32, Paul “Semtex” Daley, 36, Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa, 39, Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy, 37, Chris Eubank Sr., 52, will attend “Brave 24: London.” Pickett and Chris are also possible targets for Lobov.
Meanwhile, here is Shahid talking about the upcoming Brave CF event in London:
