Samy “AK47” Sana, 30, of France will face Dzhabar “Genghis Khan” Askerov, 33, of Russia at “ONE: Dreams of Gold.” ONE Championship will hold the combat sports event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on August 16, 2019.
“ONE: Dreams of Gold” will feature mixed martial arts, kickboxing and Muay Thai. One of the kickboxing contests is between Sana and Askerov in the semi-final round of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.
A former WBC and A1 Muay Thai World Champion, Sana is training out of Phenix Muay Thai Paris in Paris, France and Venum Training Camp Thailand in Pattaya, Thailand. In April 2019, he shocked the world when he defeated Muay Thai legend “The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, 34, of Thailand to advance to the tournament semi-finals.
Facing Yodsanklai, Sana was aggressive and assertive. The French kickboxer put together the performance of a lifetime to score the upset.
