Cian Cowley, Maciej Gierzewski

Ireland, Poland and Northern Ireland were represented at “Brave 24: London” at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, England on July 25, 2019. It was the first Brave Combat Federation event to take place in England.

An invite-only event attended by VIP guests, “Brave 24: London” featured seven professional mixed martial arts bouts. In the co-main event of the evening, Cian “The Warrior” Cowley, 25, of Ireland and Maciej “MagicMan” Gierzewski, 32, of Poland and Northern Ireland battled it out in the lightweight division.

Leon Roberts served as the referee. He put a stop to the lightweight bout after 1 minute and 28 seconds in the second round when Gierszweski knocked out Cowley, giving the Irish contender his first knockout loss.

Winning at “Brave 24: London” improved the professional MMA record of Gierszewski to 6 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Cowley now has 2 wins and 3 losses.

On July 24, 2019, Cowley and Gierszewski weighed 70.3 kg and 70.2 kg, respectively, during the official “Brave 24: London” weigh-ins in Stratford, England. After a tense face-off, the two shook hands.

Cowley was one of the two fighters who represented Ireland at “Brave 24: London.” It was the fourth Brave CF bout of the Irish MMA fighter who trains out of Straight Blast Gym Ireland in Dublin, Ireland.

Gierszewski made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 24: London.” He was the sole representative of both Poland and Northern Ireland.

Including Ireland, Poland and Northern Ireland, 11 countries were represented at “Brave 24: London.” The others were Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, England, Lebanon, Russia and the United States and Wales.

“Brave 24: London” was an invite-only black tie event. Among the VIPs who attended were Russia and Ireland’s Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov, 32, Brazil’s Guilherme “MC Guimê” Aparecido Dantas, 26, and Whindersson Nunes, 24, and England’s Paul “Semtex” Daley, 36, Brad “One Punch” Pickett, 40, Aaron “The Joker” Chalmers, 32, Luke “Bigslow” Barnatt, 31, Nathan “The Black” Rose, 28, Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa, 39, and Sam Gowland, 23.

Brave CF Super Lightweight World Champion Eldar “Khan” Eldarov, 28, of Bahrain and Russia IMMAF president Kerrith Brown, 47, of Great Britain also graced “Brave 24: London” with Brave CF president Mohammed “The Hawk” Shahid, 30, of Bahrain. Meanwhile, here is a clip featuring Cowley:
