“The Stalker” Xie Bin, 21, of China was one of the winners at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes.” It was the eighth victory of the Chinese mixed martial artist in ONE Championship.
Featuring 13 mixed martial arts matches and two Muay Thai matches, “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. In the fourth bout of the evening, Xie faced Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly, 35, of the Philippines in an MMA match in the featherweight division with Kemp Cheng as the referee.
The bout unexpectedly before the end of second round when Kelly was deemed unable to continue due to an accidental injury. In the end, Cheng raised the hand of Xie who was awarded a unanimous technical decision victory.
Winning at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” improved the professional MMA record of Xie to 8 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Kelly now has 12 wins and 7 losses.
Including the Philippines and China, 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes.” The other countries were Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.
Kelly was one of the five hometown heroes on the card. Xie was one of the two representatives of China.
Xie has been competing in ONE Championship since 2016. The first seven opponents he defeated in the promotion were Ma Shuang, 29, of China, Mario Satya Wirawan, 29, of Indonesia, Chan Rothana, 33, of Cambodia, Shi Hao Huang, 26, of Singapore, Sor Sey, 36, of Cambodia, Hisyam Samsudin, 28, of Malaysia and “Lycan” Ahmad Qais Jasoor, 30, of Afghanistan.
