WWE SmackDown 20th Anniversary

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced several Hall of Famers for the 20th anniversary of “SmackDown Live.” Among them are Terry Gene “Hulk Hogan” Bollea, 66, Steve “Sting” Borden, 60, Richard Morgan “Ric Flair” Fliehr, 70, William Scott “Bill” Goldberg, 52, Robert Booker Tio “Booker T” Huffman, 54, Michael Francis “Mick” Foley, 54, Kurt Angle, 50, Amy Christine “Lita” Dumas, 44, Patricia Anne “Trish Stratus” Stratigeas, 42, Mark Henry, 48, Jerry Lawler, 69, and Mark William “The Undertaker” Calaway, 54.

Born on February 25, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, Flair made his professional wrestling debut on December 10, 1972 and officially retired on December 3, 2012.

One of Flair’s daughters Ashley “Charlotte Flair” Elizabeth Fliehr, 33, is also a WWE wrestler. On August 11, 2019, she defeated Stratigeas in a singles match at “WWE Summer Slam” at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The 20th anniversary celebration of “SmackDown Live” will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA on October 4, 2019. It will mark the Fox premiere of “SmackDown Live,” which was been airing since 1999.

“Since we announced our five-year agreement last June, we have been eagerly counting down the days to the launch of ‘SmackDown Live’ on Fox Sports,” Fox Sports CEO and executive producer Eric Shanks said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited and are pulling out all of the stops to commemorate SmackDown’s 20th anniversary celebration.”

Starting with the SmackDown’s 20th anniversary celebration, “WWE SmackDown” will air on Fox 52 weeks a year. WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon stated, “SmackDown has been delivering action-packed, family-friendly programming for two decades, and we look forward to entertaining generations to come as we begin this next chapter on FOX.”

Tickets for the upcoming “SmackDown Live” anniversary show will be available starting on August 16, 2019 via the Staples Center box office, AXS.com or by calling 1-888-929-7849.
