Leonardo “Macarrão” Mafra, 30, of Brazil is competing the super lightweight division for the first time. He will face Djamil “Dynamite” Chan, 29, of the Netherlands in the division at “Brave 25” at the Minas Tenis Clube Arena in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The newly formed division is a step forward in the direction of safety for fighters around the world. Mafra has once again heaped praise on the initiative of Brave CF.
Mafra did his entire training camp under legendary coach Rafael Cordeiro at Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, California, United States. The super lightweight athlete talked in length about his wishes to become the champion of the new division on the new edition of “Brave off the Record,” a series of videos where Brave CF puts the fans in the driver’s seat for the first steps of fight week.
“I’m very happy that Brave CF has come forward and created this division,” Mafra stated. “I was hoping they build that division because it’s the right weight class for a lot of fighters. This is a perfect division.
As “Brave 25” approaches, top fighters from around the world start to touch down in Belo Horizonte for Brave CF’s most explosive card of the year. In the main event, Cleiton “Predator” Silva, 33, of Brazil will challenge reigning Brave CF Lightweight World Champion Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Brazil.
“It will soon (be) a very crowded division,” the Kings MMA athlete said of Brave CF’s super lightweight division before being swarmed by fans in the entrance of the fighters’ hotel. “I will do my best to be the champion.”
“Brave off the Record” also caught up with Erivan “Negão” Pereira, 29, of Brazil and Mehdi “The Sultan” Baghdad, 34, of France and the United States who will also compete in the super lightweight division. Also featured in the video are Nkosi “King” Ndebele, 24, of South Africa, Caio Gregório, 23, of Brazil and Mafra’s opponent Djamil “Dynamite” Chan, 29, of the Netherlands.
