
A new supergroup called SuperM is about to invade the music scene. It is a K-pop group with seven members and their debut album is expected to be released on October 4, 2019.
Formed by SM Entertainment, SuperM consists of members of different K-pop boy bands. They are “Taemin” Lee Tae Min, 26, of SHINee, “Kai” Kim Jong In, 25, and “Baekhyun” Byun Baek Hyun, 27, of EXO, “Taeyong” Lee Tae Yong, 24, and “Mark” Mark Lee, 20, of NCT 127 and “Lucas” Huang Xu Xi, 20, and “Ten” Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul, 23, of WayV.
While the members belong to different groups, SuperM is neither a temporary unit nor a project group. SM Entertainment will promote it as a permanent brand.
On August 29, 2019, SuperM took to Twitter to reveal its promotion schedule. It will start on September 1, 2019 and will end on November 1, 2019.
On August 25, 2019, Baekyun and Kai arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Lucas, Ten, Taemin, Taeyong and Mark were spotted in the largest city of the UAE on August 26, 2019, according to Gulf News.
Baekyun, Kai, Lucas, Ten, Taemin, Taeyong and Mark are reportedly in Dubai to shoot their debut music video as SuperM. The city is home to famous tourists destinations including Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo of Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Desert Safari, Dubai Museum in Al Fahidi, Dubai Miracle Garden, Jumeirah Beach, Jumeirah Mosque, Dhow Cruise Dubai Marina, Deira, Bastakiya, the Heritage and Diving Village Legoland Dubai, Motiongate Dubai, IMG Worlds of Adventure, Legoland Waterpark and Bollywood Parks.
It was SM Entertainment founder and famed executive music producer Lee Soo-man, Capitol Music Group chairman and CEO Steve Barnett and Caroline president Jacqueline Saturn who announced the formation of SuperM during the annual Capitol Congress event of Capitol Records in Los Angeles, California, United States. The new K-pop supergroup will be launched in the U.S. in October 2019.
