“Pati Pato” is the much awaited collaboration of rappers Sean Patrick “Shanti Dope” Ramos, 18, and Aristotle “Gloc-9” Pollisco, 41, with Alfonso “Chito” Y. Miranda Jr., 43, of the Filipino rock band Parokya ni Edgar. The collaboration song also features Shanti Dope’s uncle and producer Lester “DJ Klumcee” Vaño.
With its undeniable power, the collaboration shows off the insane amount of talent that Filipinos have come to love through an upbeat banger that manages to contain both the grit of the daily grind and the uplifting message of pursuing one’s passions and unleashing ambitions no matter what. Fans of Filipino music are bound to enjoy the song, which is already on its way to become the next classic.
Shanti Dope, Gloc-9 and Miranda personify their struggles in life and career in each of their verses in “Pati Pato.” Gloc-9 is joined by DJ Klumcee in the chorus.
It was in February 2019 when Shanti Dope, Gloc-9 and Miranda first came together when they performed the classic rap track “Bagsakan” during an event in the University of the Philippines in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is a song written by Gloc-9 and Miranda together with the late Filipino rap legend Francis Magalona.
On June 7, 2019, Gloc-9 released a five-track extended play titled “Tulay.” One of the songs titled Maleta” features Julie Anne San Jose, 25.
Also on June 7, 2019, Star Music released a remixed version of “Imposible” by KZ Tandingan, 27, featuring Shanti Dope. It was from Tandingan’s second studio album “Soul Supremacy.”
As for Parokya ni Edgar, it has been almost three years since the band released a studio album. Universal Records released the band’s 10th studio album “Pogi Years Old” on October 17, 2016.
Produced by DJ Klumcee, “Pati Pato” is now available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Amazon Music under Universal Records. Here is a lyric video of Shanti Dope, Gloc-9 and Miranda’s new collaboration song:
