Model Elís Miele, 20, will represent Brazil in Miss World 2019 in London, England. She is the 49th woman from her country to compete in the international beauty pageant.
Representing Espirito Santo, Brazil, Miele was crowned Miss Mundo Brasil 2019 (Miss World Brazil 2019) on September 3, 2019 at Dall’Onder Grande Hotel, in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She was crowned by Miss World Brazil 2018 Jessica Carvalho, who did not place in Miss World 2018.
Runner-up to Miele was Fernanda Souza, 24, of Caminho dos Príncipes. Iully Thaísa, 24, of Fernando de Nornha, Jessica Lirio, 26, of Rio Grande do Sul and Elizama Aguilar, 22, of Santa Catarina finished in the Top 10.
Miele hails from Serra, Espirito Santo. It is home to Praia de Jacaraípe, which is known for hosting surfing championships.
Born on December 30, 1998, Miele attended Colégio Técnico São Francisco Xavier in São Paolo, Brazil. She was only 13 years old when she was named a Girl Outdoor Ipatinga.
In 2013, Miele completed her professional modeling course and joined in Miss Ipatinga Teen. The Brazilian model finished in the Top 10.
In 2018, the Serra native was crowned Miss Ipatinga Official and Miss Minas Gerais Be Emotion. She finished in the Top 15 in Miss Brazil Be Emotion 2018.
On December 14, 2019, Miele will compete against more than 100 candidates from around the world for the Miss World 2019 title at the ExCeL London in London, England, United Kingdom. The successor of Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce, 27, of Mexico will be the 70th woman to hold the title.
If Miele wins Miss World 2019, she will be the second titleholder of the international beauty pageant from her country. The first one was Miss World 1971 Lucia Petterle.
