
Michael “The Beast from the East” Pham, 30, of the United Kingdom and Vietnam was one of the winners at “ONE: Immortal Triumph.” It was his first victory in ONE Super Series, the striking only league of Singapore-based martial arts organization ONE Championship.
Featuring nine Muay Thai matches and three kickboxing contests, “ONE: Immortal Triumph” took place at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on September 6, 2019. In the first bout of the evening, Pham faced “Ant Man” Mohammad Fakri Bin Yusoff, 23, of Malaysia in a Muay Thai match in the featherweight division.
Olivier Coste served as the referee. After three three-minute rounds, he raised the hand of Pham as the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Immortal Triumph” improved the professional Muay Thai record of Pham to 18 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Yusoff now has 12 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw.
Both Pham and Yusoff made their ONE Super Series debuts at “ONE: Immortal Triumph.” The English-Vietnamese contender is representing Team Tieu while the Malysian fighter is training out of Muay Thai 98 Fitness Gym.
Including Vietnam, the U.K. and Malaysia, 15 countries were represented at “ONE: Immortal Triumph.” The others were Algeria, Australia, Brazil, France, India, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia, Thailand and the United States.
Yusoff was one of the two fighters who represented Malaysia. Pham was one of the three representatives of the U.K. wand one of the four representatives of Vietnam.
Born on October 16, 1998, Pham attended Park View Academy in London, England, U.K. He is a Muay Thai Grand Prix European Champion and is currently based in London.
“ONE: Immortal Triumph” was the first ever ONE Championship event to take place in Vietnam and it featured the organization’s first ever fight card that included striking bouts only. Here is a recap:
