Indonesia-based mixed martial arts promotion One Pride Pro Never Quit MMA has released the fight card of its upcoming event in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event will be headlined by reigning One Pride MMA Lightweight Champion Jeka “Si Tendangan Maut” Asparido Saragih of Indonesia and Mhar John “Magnanimous” Palalisan Manahan, 25, Philippines.
“One Pride MMA Fight Night 32: Spirit of Champions” will be held at the Tennis Indoor Stadium in the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Senayan, Jakarta on September 21, 2019. The main event marks Saragih’s first international fight.
Saragih is coming out of his fourth successful title defense. He submitted his challenger and countryman Hendrik Tarigan at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 30: Undefeated Never Quit” at the Tennis Indoor Stadium on July 27, 2019.
On the other hand, Manahan is an undefeated MMA fighter and a silver medallist of national kickboxing championship. He trains under the tutelage of the wushu world champion Rene “The Challenger” Catalan, 40, of the Philippines.
In the co-main event, Yusuf Susilo will challenge reigning One Pride MMA Bantamweight Champion Achmad Eko Priandono of Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia. The defending champion earned the title on February 9, 2019 by defeating Sony Rizaldi via unanimous decision in a rematch at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 26”
Priandono’s martial arts journey in 2007 and has been competing in One Pride MMA since 2017. In his second bout in the promotion, which was at “One Pride MMA Fight 12” on September 9, 2017, he lost to Rizaldi via unanimous decision.
After the loss, Priandono switched camp to Saint Martial Arts and racked up the consecutive knockouts and subsequently the One Pride MMA Bantamweight Championship belt. He said, “I fight not only for myself but for those around me who have always supported me, especially my mother, my sister and people who love me.”
“That is my biggest motivation to move forward,” Priandono said. “I will not stop at this point. Insha Allah (God willing), (I) can go international. ”
The reigning One Pride MMA Bantamweight Champion is known for his lightning speed and combinations. On the other hand, his next challenger has a contrasting style.
With a karate background, Susilo provides a unique challenge with a fighting style that relies on accurate and powerful strikes. These could end Priandono’s resistance in an instant.
Former One Pride MMA Strawweight Champion Brando “Tiger Karo” Mamana, 25, of Kabanjahe, Indonesia is also on the fight card. He will face Billy “The Twister” Pasulatan in the strawweight division.
Mmana is known for his spinning kick that knocked Adi “Zenwalk” Paryanto to the One Pride Arena at “One Pride Fight Night 10” on May 13, 2017. The former champ is one of the best finishers in One Pride MMA, winning 6 of 7 wins within the opening round.
Pasulatan seems unstoppable with 4 consecutive wins in the strawweight division. He is one of the few fighters in One Pride MMA who was able to incorporate his taekwondo background into an effective package in MMA.
In the classic grappler versus striker bout, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu stylist Yesreel Mocodaser will face boxer Jamil Burhan in the lightweight division. The latter Jamil is famous for his boxing skills, particularly his left hook.
Jamil is coming out from an armbar submission loss to Novian Hartanto at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 20” on July 14, 2018 in the featherweight division. The former chose to move to the lightweight division and was welcomed by Mocodaser.
On February 9, 2019, Jamil submitted Sarweddy SIahaan of Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia via Von Flue choke at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 26.” It was the first ever Von Flue choke at in One Pride MMA, which was founded in 2016.
