Uzbekistan’s Makhmud Muradov earns 1st UFC win, decisions Italy’s Alessio Di Chirico at ‘UFC Fight Night 160’ in Denmark

Makhmud “Mach” Muradov, 29, of Uzbekistan and Czech Republic was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 160.” It was the Uzbek-Czech mixed martial artist’s first victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The UFC held “UFC Fight Night 160,” also known as “UFC on ESPN+ 18,” at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. The fight card featured 13 MMA bouts.

In the sixth bout of the evening, Muradov fought Alessio “Manzo” Di Chirico, 29, of Rome, Italy in the middleweight division. Mikkel Birch Olsen served as the referee.

After three five-minute rounds, the middleweight bout was left in the hands of the three judges, who all scored it 29-28. In the end, Olsen raised the hand of Muradov, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 160” improved the professional MMA record of Muradov to 23 wins and 6 losses. On the other hand, Di Chirico now has 12 wins and 4 losses.

“(It was) hard to win because Alessio is a good fighter,” Muradov said after his first UFC victory. “(He had) six fighters in the UFC, 3 wins and 3 losses. Now I win. I’m very happy I’m here. I’m a winner.”

“UFC Fight Night 160” marked Muradov’s UFC debut. It was Di Chirico’s sixth bout in the promotion not including his one “The Ultimate Fighter” outing.

Including Uzbekistan, Czech Republic and Italy, 16 countries were represented at “UFC Fight Night 160.” The others were Afghanistan, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, England, Georgia, Iceland, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Sweden, the Untied States and Wales.

Di Chirico was one of the two representatives of Italy. Muradov solely represented both Uzbekistan and Czech Republic.

Muradov is the first ever Uzbek MMA fighter to join the UFC and now the first Uzbek MMA fighter to win in the promotion. He was born in Uzbekistan on February 8, 1980 and is currently based in Prague, Czech Republic.

In 2018, Muradov signed with Mayweather Promotions. He is the first and still the only MMA fighter to be signed with the boxing promotional firm founded in 2007 by undefeated boxer Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather Jr., 42, of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
