Training out of Championship Gym Alberta, Canada, undefeated mixed martial artist Alex Martinez, 25, of Paraguay was one of the winners at “Brave 27.” It was his second victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation.
Brave CF held “Brave 27” at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates with 10 MMA bouts. In the co-main event of the evening, Martinez fought Anas “The Moroccan Sensation” Siraj Mounir, 33, Morocco, who is training out of Team Nogueria Dubai in Dubai, UAE.
With Tomasz Bronder as the referee, Martinez and Mounir competed in the lightweight division. Bronder put a stop to the contest after 10 seconds in the second round when Martinez knocked out Mounir.
Winning at “Brave 27” improved the professional MMA record of Martinez to 6 wins, 0 loss, 0 draw and 1 No Contest. On the other hand, Mounir now has 7 wins, 2 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.
In the main event of the evening, Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Amman, Jordan regained the Brave Combat Federation Welterweight World Championship title. He dethroned Abdoul “The Conqueror” Abdouraguimov, 23, of Nantes, France.
The co-main event of the evening was a rematch between Mounir and Martinez. On April 19, 2019, they battled it out in the lightweight division at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor,” which took place at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan.
The Paraguayan-Canadian contender went for a low kick in the first round. Although accidental, the kick was illegal and Mounir was unable to continue so the bout was declared a No Contest.
