Japan’s Itsuki Hirata earns 2nd ONE Championship win, submits Rika Ishige at ‘ONE: Century 世紀’ in Tokyo

Itsuki “Strong Heart Fighter” Hirata, 20, of Tokyo, Japan was one of the winners at “ONE: Century 世紀” in Tokyo. It was the undefeated Japanese mixed martial artist’s second victory in ONE Championship.

Featuring MMA, Muay Thai and kickboxing matches, “ONE: Century 世紀” had two parts with 11 bouts each both of which took place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on October 12, 2019. In the fourth bout of the first part, Hirata fought Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 30, of Bangkok, Thailand in an MMA bout in the women’s atomweight division.

Yoshinori Umeki served as the referee. All match long, Hirata was one step ahead of Ishige.

Hirata outstruck and outgrappled Ishige. In the second round, the Japanese fighter continued to dominate as she opened with punches before taking her Thai-Japanese opponent down and locking in a deep armbar.

Umeki put a stop to the atomweight bout after 4 minutes and 41 seconds in the second round. Hirata submitted Ishige via armbar.

Winning at “ONE: Century 世紀” improved the professional MMA record of Hirata to 5 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Ishige now has 4 wins and 4 losses.

Ishige is training out of Bangkok Fight Lab and Tiger Muay Thai. Hirata represents K-Clann.


Born in Tokyo on August 24, 1999, Hirata made his professional MMA debut in 2018. When she made her ONE Championship debut on June 15, 2019 at “ONE: Legendary Quest” in Shanghai, China, she submitted Angelie “The Explorer” Sabanal, 29, of the Philippines.

“ONE: Century 世紀” was the second ONE Championship event held in Japan. It marked the martial arts organization’s 100th live event.

Including Japan and Thailand, a total of 18 countries were represented in the two parts of “ONE: Century 世紀.” The others were Algeria, Belarus, Brazil, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.

Hirata was one of the 12 fighters who represented Japan while Ishige was one of the three representatives of Thailand. Watch the highlights of “ONE: Century 世紀” part 1 here:
