Cebu’s Erik Lennart Visser to represent Philippines at Mr. Universe Tourism 2020 in Bali, Indonesia

Erik Lennart Visser, 21, of Cebu, Philippines was one of the Ginoong Pilipinas 2019 winners. The Filipino-Dutch licensed private pilot was crowned Ginoong Pilipinas-Mister Universe Tourism 2019.

Originally from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines, Visser resided in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu from 2015 to 2017. He is set to earn his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Silliman University in Dumaguete in 2020 and eventually his commercial pilot license from the Airworks Aviation Academy in Lapu-Lapu City.

In 2018, Visser was crowned Mr. Hibalag in Silliman University. On September 28, 2019, he was crowned Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu 2019 at the Events in Soltana in Lapu-Lapu City.

Including Visser, 22 Filipino bachelors competed at Ginoong Pilipinas 2019. Hosted by Simone Nadine Bornilla and Nico Locco, the coronation ceremony took place at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater of RCBC Plaza Building in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines on October 27, 2019.

Four titleholders were crowned. They will represent the Philippines in the next editions of Misters of the World, Gentleman of the World, Man of the World and Mr. Universe Tourism.

Aside from the Ginoong Pilipinas-Mr. Universe Tourism 2019 title, Visser also won the Best in Formal Wear and Best in National Costume awards. The other winners were Ginoong Pilipinas-Man of the Year 2019 Romart Lagura, 28, of Ozamiz, Misamis Occidental, Ginoong Pilipinas-Gentleman of the World 2019 Clark Cardoniga, 29, of Cavite and Ginoong Pilipinas-Misters of the World 2019 Lorenzo Isip, 20, of Masbate while John Michael Suelo, 25, of Iloilo and Ruslan Kulikov, 19, of Batangas were the respective first and second runners-up.

Visser will compete against other bachelors from all over the world at Mr. Universe Tourism 2020. The coronation night of the international male beauty pageant’s fourth edition will take place in Bali, Indonesia.

In 2017, Richard Ricardo Carter, 24, of Thailand was crowned as the inaugural Mr. Universe Tourism at the Palacio de Maynila in Malate, Manila. On May 29, 2018, Benigno “Ion” Dungon Perez, 28, of the Philippines was crowned Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 at the Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City, Metro Manila but due to his failure to fulfill his duties, he was replaced by his runner-up Brata Manggala Putra Kartasasmita of Indonesia.
