Romart Lagura, 28, of Ozamiz, Misamis Occidental, Philippines was one of the Ginoong Pilipinas 2019 winners. He was crowned on October 27, 2019.
Born on January 1, 1991, Lagura hails from Malaubang, Ozamis, Misamis Occidental. He studied at Misamis University in Ozamiz and works as a barista at Hilton Ras al Khaimah Resort and Spa in Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Including Lagura, 22 Filipino bachelors competed in Ginoong Pilipinas 2019. Hosted by reigning Miss Teen International 2018 Asia And Oceania Simone Nadine Bornilla and actor and model Nicholas Timothy “Nico Locco” Fowler, the coronation night took place at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater of RCBC Plaza Building in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines on October 27, 2019.
Four titleholders were crowned. They will represent the Philippines in the next editions of Misters of the World, Gentleman of the World, Man of the World and Mr. Universe Tourism.
Lagura was crowned Ginoong Pilipinas-Man of the Year 2019. The other winners were Ginoong Pilipinas-Mister Universe Tourism 2019 Erik Lennart Visser, 21, of Cebu, Ginoong Pilipinas-Gentleman of the World 2019 Clark Cardoniga, 29, of Cavite and Ginoong Pilipinas-Misters of the World 2019 Lorenzo Isip, 20, of Masbate while John Michael Suelo, 25, of Iloilo and Ruslan Kulikov, 19, of Batangas were the respective first and second runners-up.
Aside from the Ginoong Pilipinas-Man of the Year 2019 title, Lagura also won two special awards. He was Best in Swimwear and the NIV Ginoong Cariñoso awardee.
In 2020, Lagura will represent the Philippines in Man of the Year 2020. The date and venue have yet to be announced.
On September 22, 2019, Ho Jin Lee, 27, of South Korea was crowned Man of the Year 2019 in Yangon, Myanmar. Tuong Ngoc Minh of Vietnam, Ryandi Anugerah Putra of Indonesia, Cristian Moral Parra of Spain and Chit Ko Ko Hut of Myanmar were the respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up.
