Reece “Lightning” McLaren, 27, of Australia will lock horns with Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat, 32, of India at “ONE: Mark of Greatness” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 6, 2019. They will battle it out in a flyweight contest.

Training out of Potential Unlimited Mixed Martial Arts in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia, McLaren is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and a former Eternal MMA and XFL Bantamweight Champion. He is an absolute menace on the mat, evidenced by the incredible skills he has shown in submission victories so far in his ONE Championship career.

McLaren is coming out of a split decision loss to Danny “The King” Kingad, 23, of the Philippines at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on August 2, 2019. The loss downgraded the professional MMA record of the Filipino-Australian athlete to 12 wins and 7 losses.

On the other hand, Mangat currently has 15 wins and 2 losses. “ONE: Mark of Greatness” marks his third ONE Championship bout.

Mangat is training out of is training out of Xtreme Couture and 10th Planet Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. He defeated his first two opponents in ONE Championship, namely Abro “The Black Komodo” Fernandes, 29, of Indonesia and Timor Leste and Toni “Dynamite” Tauru, 34, of Finland.

Before joining ONE Championship, Mangat competed in Super Fight League and BRAVE Combat Federation, among others. A child of Indian immigrants, he grew up in a small town in Canada.

Inspired by ONE Championship vice president Rich Franklin, Mangat pursued a career in martial arts. The Canadian-Indian fighter’s journey has led him to the bright lights of ONE Championship.
