“The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, 33, of Thailand was one of the ONE Championship athletes who participated in the official “ONE: Age of Dragons” open workout in Beijing, China on November 13, 2019. Training out of Fairtex Gym and IWE Combat Club, he is set to fight Jamal “Kherow” Yusupov of Russia.
“I plan to climb into the ring and make a statement,” Yodsanklai said. “As always, I’m looking for the finish. I fully expect to have my hands raised in victory when the night is over.”
Featuring six MMA bouts, four kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai match, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Age of Dragons” at the Cadillac Arena in Beijing on November 16, 2019. In the ninth bout of the evening, Yodsanklai and Yusupov will compete in a Muay Thai bout at a catch weight of 73kg.
“I am ready as I will ever be for Saturday night,” Yodsanklai declared. “All the hard work and preparation has come down to this.”
“Now it’s time to put on a show,” the Thai martial artist added. “I am still after the ONE World Title and I believe I am still close to achieving my goal.”
Born in Nong Bua Lamphu, Thailand on July 1, 1985, Yodsanklai has been practicing Muay Thai since he was 8 years old. He was undefeated from 2012 to early 2019 but his winning streak was broken by Samy “AK47” Sana, 30, of France in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix semi-finals at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” in Kallang, Singapore on May 17, 2019.
“ONE: Age of Dragons” marks Yodsanklai’s fourth bout in the ONE Championship striking-only league ONE Super Series. He currently holds a professional Muay Thai and kickboxing record of 202 wins, 72 losses and 4 draws.
Yodsanklai has been competing professionally since 2002. His original “ONE: Age of Dragons” opponent was Sasha Moisa, 24, of Odessa, Ukraine, who was replaced by Yusupov.
Training out of Best Style Boxing and GOG Fighting, Yusupov is making his ONE Super Series debut at “ONE: Age of Dragons.”
