Denice “The Fairtex Menace” Zamboanga, 22, of the Philippines is set to make her ONE Championship debut on December 6, 2019 against Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, 21, of Malaysia. The pair will square off at “ONE: Mark of Greatness” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Zamboanga currently holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 5 wins and 0 loss. She became a professional martial artist by following the footsteps of her older brother Drex “T-Rex” Zamboanga, 30, the reigning URCC Global Bantamweight Champion.
On the other hand, Radzuan has 5 wins and 1 loss. She is a Wushu World Champion and a MIMMA Women’s Champion.
After competing and remaining so far undefeated, Denice wanted to improve her skills further. She heeded the advice from her good friend and ONE Championship athlete Rome “The Rebel” Trinidad, 22, of the Philippines to spend parts of her camp in Thailand and train with the world’s best at the Fairtex Gym, where reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex, 21, of Thailand is training.
“I initially learned karate from my brother Drex but I want to learn more and make my skills world-class, and that made me decide to go and train here in Fairtex,” Denice said. “The Fairtex gym produces world champions and I’m impressed with how their athletes perform on the international stage like Stamp.”
“I love the type of training and the facilities they offer,” Denice continued. “I have a lot of female sparring partners, which I had difficulty finding back home.”
Since April 2019, Denice has spent most of her time working on her craft in Pattaya, Thailand. Along the way, she met the reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion and became friends with her.
At “ONE: Mark of Greatness,” Denice and Radzuan will compete in an MMA bout in the women’s atomweight division. Aside from ONE Super Series, Stamp is also competing in the same division of ONE Championship as an MMA fighter.
