Hailing from the mountainous region of Dagestan, Russia, Abdulmutalip “White Wolf” Gayirbegov is scheduled to take on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Rodrigo Caporal of Hong Kong at “Rebel FC 10: A New Order” in Moscow, Russia on January 11, 2020. On a 10-fight winning streak, the Dagestani contender holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 12 wins and 2 losses while his opponent has 14 wins and 8 losses.
Initially scheduled to take on Italo Ribeiro (8-3) at Featherweight, however a weeks into his training camp, Gayirbegov was offered a new opponent at Lightweight in the form of Kun Lun Champion Rodrigo Caporal.
“I was preparing for Italo but no issues when they said Caporal. It is my first fight at Lightweight. I’m sure he’ll be bigger than me but I’m here for a fight. I can promise fireworks. I’m ready for 3 rounds but I don’t think it’ll go the full 3 rounds.”
In his last outing, Gayirbegov took on Brazil veteran Michel Lima (15-2). It was a back and forth battle in which Gayirbegov edged out a split decision win. Gayirbegov showed some great pressure and takedown abilities in his last outing.
“It was a good fight with Lima and I learned and grew alot with the experience,” Gayirbegov said. “I came out victorious and I plan to do the same with Caporal.”
Gayirbegov is representing Academy MMA and Universal Fighters. He said, “I’ve been training hard for this fight and I train with Rasul Magomedaliev at Academy MMA also daily striking with Coach Umar Umahandibirov.”
“I also frequent the Universal Fighters Training Hall for some good grappling training,” the Dagestani MMA fighter continued. “I’m working a lot with fellow Dagestan fighters and everything is on point.”
When asked what his next plans were, Gayirbegov said, “Ideally I would like to fight a top Chinese contender like Lu Zhenhong for the Rebel FC Featherweight Championship or another big international name and build my brand as an athlete. I want my name to go down in China MMA history. I’m hungry to get to the top. Thank you to my manager Abduljalil Alizhanov and Rebel FC President Justin Leong for the opportunity, I’m not going to disappoint.”
Stay tuned for Rebel Fighting Championship’s first event in Russia and look out for Gayirbegov vs Caporal. It is sure to be a cracker. For more information please visit www.rebelfightingchampionship.com
