Ireland vs England: Cian Cowley, Sam Patterson to fight at ‘BRAVE CF 33’ in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Cian “The Warrior” Cowley, 25, of Ireland has a chance to bounce back from two straight defeats as he will look to get back to his knockout-winning ways in Saudi Arabia. The Irish mixed martial artist is scheduled to make his much anticipated comeback at “BRAVE CF 33.”

BRAVE Combat Federation will hold “BRAVE CF 33” at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on December 27, 2019. This will be the second event of of the Bahrain-based MMA promotion in the kingdom.

One of the bouts on the card is between Cowley and Sam Patterson, 23, of England. They will compete in the lightweight division.

Training out of Straight Blast Gym Ireland in Dublin, Ireland, Cowley was on the verge of breaking in the Top 5 of BRAVE CF’s lightweight division with two straight technical knockout victories in his two first bouts for the Bahrain-based MMA promotion. The Irish fighter beat Daniel “Obi Wan” Olejniczak, 32, of Poland at “BRAVE CF 13: Europe Evolution” at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

On November 16, 2018, Cowley knocked out Hardeep Rai, 23, of England at “BRAVE CF 18” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Manama, Bahrain. But on March 15, 2019, the SBG Ireland athlete lost via split decision to John “Trouble” Brewin, 24, of New Zealand at “BRAVE CF 22: Storm of Warriors” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

On July 25, 2019, Cowley was knocked out by Maciej “MagicMan” Gierzewski, 32, of Poland and Northern Ireland at “BRAVE CF 24: London” at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, England. It downgraded the Irish fighter’s professional MMA record to 2 wins adn 3 losses.

Now, Cowley wants to bounce back from the two consecutive losses. His “BRAVE CF 33” opponent is coming off a draw against Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir, 28, of Kuwait and Egypt.

When Patterson made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 9: The Kingdom of Champions” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena on November 17, 2017, he was knocked out by Rai. “BRAVE CF 33” marks the third outing of the English fighter in BRAVE CF.
