Phil Hawes, Iuri Fraga

Phil “Zilla” Hawes, 30, of Little Ferry, New Jersey, United States will face Iuri Fraga, 36, of Belem, Para, Brazil at “BRAVE CF 34.” It will be the American wrestler’s second bout in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion.

Fraga will make his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 34.” He holds a professional MMA record of 13 wins, 10 losses and 1 draw while Hawes has 6 wins and 2 losses.

“I don’t really watch my opponents,” Hawes shared. “I just compete. I do what I do and let them try to figure me out. I know I’ll always have the tools to get the victory.”

“Fraga is going to be a tough opponent,” Hawes said of his “BRAVE CF 34″ opponent. He’s had a lot of fights but I don’t think he’s on my level. None of these guys are. I’m down to showcase my skills against all of them.”

“I think I’m the best in the world so it doesn’t really matter,” the New Jersey native added. “I’m going to go for a finish in the second round. I see myself figuring him out in the first and getting him out of there in the second.”

Competing in the middleweight division, Hawes impressed fans and critics in his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 30” on November 23, 2019 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He quickly submitted Dominic “Painless” Schober, 28, of Vienna, Upper Austria, Austria.

Hawes is one of the two fighters on the “BRAVE CF 34” card representing the U.S. As a joint event with WFC, it will take place simultaneously with “WFC 24: Caged.”

The reigning champion of BRAVE CF’s middleweight division is Daniel “Gaúcho” Pereira, 28, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. As Hawes continues his climb towards the top of the division, he is unconcerned about Fraga, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt based in the United Arab Emirates.
