
Actor “Bank” Thiti Mahayotaruk (“แบงค์” ติ มหาโยธารักษ์), 23, and singers Kratae R. Siam (กระแต อาร์สยาม), 32, and “Typhoon” Kanokchat Manyaton (กนกฉัตร มรรยาทอ่อน), 28, were among the special guests of ONE Championship during the official kick-off “ONE: A New Tomorrow” press conference. The Singapore-based martial arts organization held the event at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on January 6, 2020.
Joining Bank, Kratae and Typhoon in a panel discussion were hip-hop group Buddha Bless (บุดด้า เบลส) member Suranun “Tong” Chumtaratorn (สุรนันต์ ชุ่มธาราธร), 43, and actors “Big” Thongpoom Siripipat (“บิ๊ก” ทองภูมิ สิริพิพัฒน์), 31, and Sanya Kunakorn (สัญญา คุณากร), 56. It was Sanya who served as the moderator.
The Thai celebrities who attended the “ONE: A New Tomorrow” press conference have personal connections to martial arts. Bank and Typhoon are interested in boxing while Kratae is a Muay Thai fighter-turned-singer.
Tong, the founder of the Capoeira Club in Thailand, started his taekwondo training when he moved to New Zealand at the age of 14. Big was also very young when he started his judo training.
Professional Sports Development and Boxing Department director Tanukiat Janchum, ONE Championship Thailand president “Plai” Jitinat Asdamongkol, Minister of Tourism and Sports secretary Khemmapol Auitayakul were among the special guests at the “ONE: A New Tomorrow” press conference. During the event, ONE Championship officially announced its partnership with the Sports Authority of Thailand, which aims to further develop the sport of Muay Thai on a global scale.
To be held at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on January 10, 2020, the “ONE: A New Tomorrow” fight night is the first ONE Championship event in 2020. There are six mixed martial arts matches, five Muay Thai contests and one kickboxing bout on the fight card.
Four athletes will represent Thailand at “ONE: A New Tomorrow.” They are ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion “The Iron Man” Rodtang Jitmuangnon, 22, ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex, 21, “Elbow Zombie” Muangthai P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym, 25, and “Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee Sathian MuayThai Gym, 22. They were all present during the press conference.
