Representing Brazil, Carlos Santana, 29, almost won Mister Tourism World 2019. He was the fourth runner-up of the fourth edition of the international male beauty pageant established in Bali, Indonesia on January 30, 2016 with a headquarter in Greenwich, London, England, United Kingdom.
Hailing from Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, Santana was born on March 13, 1991. He attended Colégio Dom Bosco in Itabaiana, Sergipe, Brazil and earned his bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Fametro Manaus in Chapada, Manaus.
In 2017, Santana represented Amazonas in Mister Brasil Tur and was fourth runner-up. He returned to the same beauty pageant a year later.
On November 29, 2018, Santana represented Amazonas again in Mister Brasil Tur and won the title at the Castelo de Itaipava in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He bested 16 other candidates.
“Estou muito feliz de ter conquistado este título (I am very happy to have won this title),” D24am quoted Santana as saying after winning Mister Brasil Tur 2018. “Isso representa, para mim, não somente uma realização pessoal por ser um concurso de beleza, mas principalmente a oportunidade de elevar ainda mais o Amazonas no cenário do turismo nacional. Quero agora me preparar, fazer um ótimo reinado e utilizar esse título como plataforma para potencializar boas imagens do Brasil no concurso internacional (This represents, for me, not only a personal achievement because it is a beauty contest, but especially the opportunity to further elevate Amazonas in the national tourism scenario. Now I want to prepare myself, make a great reign and use this title as a platform to enhance good images of Brazil in the international competition.”
Santana is also into modelling, photography and sports. He told The Pageant Hub, “On my spare time, I work as a model with Brazilian brands, do photography and parade.”
“Sports has always had space and I had been a handball athlete for 15 years already,” Santana continued. “I’d like to push myself to the limit which is why I do fitness competitions.”
Including Santana, 19 men from around the world competed in Mister Tourism World 2019. The coronation night took place at the Montekristo Estate in Siġġiewi, Malta on January 11, 2020.
It was Danial Hansen, 24, of Malaysia who won the Mister Tourism World 2019 title. He succeeded Mister Tourism World 2018 Kyle Vosper, 25, of England.
Runner-up to Hansen was Jomar Josue Perez, 24, of Puerto Rico. Rafael Columna, 23, of Dominican Republic and Jeremy Lensink, 28, of the Netherlands were the respective second and third runners-up.
Moreover, Santana received two special awards. He was Best Runway Model second runner-up and the first runner-up in the Multimedia Award.
