Japan and South Korea will be represented at “ONE: Warrior’s Code,” the first ONE Championship event to take place in Indonesia in 2020. Indonesia will also be represented along with Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, England, Italy, Moldova, the Netherlands, Russia, Thailand, Timor Leste, the United States and Vietnam.
ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Warrior’s Code” at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 7, 2020. Featured on the fight card are not only mixed martial arts fights but also ONE Super Series contests, which are kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts.
Among the MMA fights is between Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima (松嶋こよみ), 26, of Japan and Kim Jae Woong (김재웅), 26, of South Korea. They will compete in the featherweight division.
Kim is coming out of a successful ONE Championship debut. He knocked out Rafael “Indio” Nunes, 31, of Brazil in an MMA match in the featherweight division at “ONE: Masters of Fate” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on November 8, 2019.
Born in South Korea on March 23, 1993, Kim has been competing professionally since 2012. He is training out of Extreme Combat and Top Gym BF and now holds a professional MMA record of 10 wins and 3 losses.
On the other hand, Matsushima has 11 wins and 4 losses. He is coming out of a loss to reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 30, of Vietnam and Australia.
On August 2, 2019, Matsushima challenged Nguyen at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion knocked out his Japanese challenger.
Matsushima was born in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan on October 8, 1992. He is training out of Pancrase ISM Yokohama and “ONE: Warrior’s Code” marks his fourth ONE Championship bout.
Headlining “ONE: Warrior’s Code” are Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy, 26, of Thailand and Jamal “Kherow” Yusupov, 36, of Russia. They will compete for the inaugural ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship.
