ONE Championship never stops looking for new talents from around the world. The most recent athlete signed by the Singapore-based martial arts organization is undefeated mixed martial artist Nursultan “Nurek” Rakhmanberdiev, 27, of Kyrgyzstan.
Rakhmanberdiev is being managed by MTK MMA Global. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 10 wins and 0 loss and he competes in the featherweight division.
The reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion is Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 30, of Australia and Vietnam. He won the title in 2017 and defended it successfully once in 2018 and twice in 2019.
Nguyen defeated Christian Lee at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 18, 2018. The Vietnamese-Australian champion defeated Narantungalag “Tungaa” Jadambaa, 44, of Mongolia at “ONE: Roots of Honor” on April 12, 2019 and Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima, 27, of Japan at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” on August 2, 2019 both at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
There are still no announcement about Nguyen’s next title defense. Rakhmanberdiev may need two or three wins before earning the right to compete for the ONE Featherweight World Championship belt.
Born in Kyrgyzstan on November 12, 1992, Rakhmanberdiev has been competing professionally since 2016. He won his first five bouts in World Ertaymash Federation.
The undefeated Kyrgyzstani MMA fighter also competed in Berkut Young Eagles, Nomad Fights and BRAVE Combat Federation from 2018 to 2019. His most recent bout was at “BRAVE CF 32,” which took place at the Sport Palace Kozhomkul in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on December 14, 2019 in partnership with WEF Global.
“BRAVE CF 32” was the first ever BRAVE CF event to take place in Kyrgyzstan. In the first bout of the evening, Rakhmanberdiev defeated Serzhan “Boyka” Sapargaliev, 24, of Kazakhstan.
