Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil is scheduled to make his comeback at home when BRAVE Combat Federation returns to Brazil for a record-tying fifth time. The former BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion will face tough competition in his homecoming bout as he takes on Issa Isakov, 30, of Athus, Belgium.

BRAVE CF will hold “BRAVE CF 35” in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil on March 28, 2020. The bout between Santiago and Isakov will be in the lightweight division.

Santiago scored the Knockout of the Year of 2019 in April 2019. He became the BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion with a stunning spinning-back elbow against then-champ Abdul-Kareem “Pride of Palestine” Al-Selwady, 24, of Amman, Jordan.

But on August 30, 2019, Santiago lost the title. He was dethroned via rear-naked choke submission by Cleiton “Predador” Silva, 34, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil in the main event of “BRAVE CF 25,” which took place at the Minas Tenis Clube Arena in Belo Horizonte.

A rollercoaster year for Santiago ended on a high. He got back to action at super lightweight and defeated Gadzhimusa “Deadshot” Gaziev, 27, Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia via split decision at “BRAVE CF 29” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain.

One of the most active athletes in the entire BRAVE CF roster, Santiago is going for his eighth bout under BRAVE CF. He holds a professional MMA record of 15 wins and 4 losses.

On the other hand, Isakov has 5 wins and 1 loss. When he made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 23” at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium Sports Hall in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on December 27, 2019, he submitted Rami Hamed, 28, of Beirut, Lebanon via armbar.

Isakov was one of the most accomplished amateur athletes in recent International Mixed Martial Arts Federation history. He won several medals in continental and world championships alongside an impressive amateur record of 15 wins and 4 losses.

“BRAVE CF 35” marks the fifth time BRAVE CF hosts an event in Brazil, making the country the number one home of the promotion alongside the Kingdom of Bahrain. In the main event, Silva will defend his title from Guram Kutateladze, 28, of Georgia and Sweden.
