Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira, 30, of Guarua, Sao Paulo, Brazil was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 170,” which was also called “UFC on ESPN+ 28.” It was the Brazilian mixed martial artist’s 15th victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 12 MMA bouts, the UFC held “UFC Fight Night 170” at the Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasília, Brazil on March 14, 2020. In the main event of the evening, Oliveira and Kevin “The Motown Phenom” Lee, 27, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States battled it out at a catch weight of 158.5 lbs.

Mike Beltran served as the referee. He put a stop to the catchweight contest after 28 seconds in the third round.

Oliviera submitted Lee via guillotine choke. It was the third time the American contender lost in the UFC via a choke.

Losing to Oliveira downgraded the professional MMA record of Lee to 18 wins and 6 losses. It was the sixth UFC loss of the Grand Rapids native.

On the other hand, Oliveira now has 29 wins, 8 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.

Including Brazil and the U.S., 12  countries were represented at “UFC Fight Night 170.” The others were Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and Venezuela.

Lee solely represented the U.S. Oliveira was one of the 12 hometown fighters.

Gilbert “Durinho” Burns, 33, of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil knocked out Demian Maia, 42, of Santana de Parnaiba, Sao Paulo in the co-main event of the evening. They battled it out in the welterweight division.

Before “UFC Fight Night 170,” Oliveira defeated 13 UFC opponents namely Darren Elkins, Efrain Escudero, Eric Wisely, Andy Ogle, Hatsu Hioki, Nik Lentz, Myles Jury, Will Brooks, Clay Guida, Christos Giagos, Jim Miller, David Teymur and Jared Gordon. Lentz lost to Oliveira twice.

Born in Guaruja on October 17, 1989, Oliveira has been competing professionally since 2008. When he made his UFC debut at “UFC on Versus 2” on August 1, 2020 in San Diego, California, USA, he submitted Elkins via armbar.
