James “The Honeybadger” Hendin of Durham, Country Durham, England was one of the winners at “Cage Warriors 113,” also known as “CW 113.” It was the undefeated English mixed martial artist’s fourth victory in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship.
While many MMA promotions either cancelled or postponed events amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Cage Warriors went ahead and held “CW 113” at the Manchester BEC Arena in Manchester, England on March 20, 2020 featuring 11 MMA fights. In the third bout of the evening, Hendin competed in the featherweight division against Kris “Dez” Edwards of Abertillery, Wales.
Rich Mitchell served as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, the featherweight contest was left in the hands of the judges, who scored it 30-27, 30-26 and 30-25.
In the end, Mitchell raised the hand of Hendin. The undefeated English MMA fighter was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Losing to Hendin downgraded the professional MMA record of Edwards to 13 wins and 12 losses. The Welsh MMA fighter made his Cage Warriors debut at “CW 113.”
On the other hand, Hendin now has 5 wins and 0 loss. It was his fourth Cage Warriors bout.
Competing professionally since 2018, Hendin joined Cage Warriors in 2019. The first three opponents he defeated in the London-based MMA promotion were Joshua Onwardi, Kingsley Crawford and Jordan Barton.
Including England and Wales, seven countries were represented at “Cage Warriors 113.” The others were France, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Poland and Scotland.
Hendin was one of the 14 hometown fighters. Edwards was one of the two fighters who representatives of Wales.
