Mike Tyson vs Sonny Bill Williams, Barry Hall or Paul Gallen in Melbourne, Australia for charity?

Michael Gerard “Mike” Tyson, 53, of the United States may come out of retirement soon. The boxing legend has been offered $1 million to fight Sonny William “Bill” Williams, 34, of New Zealand, Barry Hall, 43, of Australia and Paul Gallen, 38, of Australia.

The offer was from boxing promoter Brian Amatruda. He told Daily Mail that he has contacted celebrity agent Max Markson and asked him to offer $1 million to Tyson, who had problems getting a visa to return to Australia after serving time in jail for rape in 1992 in the U.S.

But in 2012, Markson brought Tyson to Australia. At the time, the retired boxer toured Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, among others.

‘We’d have to wait until the coronavirus shutdowns are over, of course, so the fight probably wouldn’t be until early next year as long as we can get the visa,” Amatruda said. “They gave him one in 2012 and he was fine.”

Amatruda is confident that he could arrange a charity bout for Tyson in Melbourne either at the Melbourne Arena or at the Princes Park. The former said the latter “might be 53 years old but he’s still a huge name and any of those blokes Hall, Gallen or Sonny Bill would jump at the chance to get into the ring with him.”

Williams is a rugby legend. As a professional boxer, he has 7 wins and 0 loss.

Hall is a former junior boxing champion with a professional boxing record of 0 win, 0 loss and 1 draw. A retired professional Australian rules footballer, he played for the St. Kilda Football Club, the Sydney Swans and the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League.

A former professional rugby league footballer, Gallen was a captain and representative of the New South Wales State of Origin team. He holds a professional boxing record of 9 wins, 0 loss and 1 draw.

On the other hand, Tyson retired with 50 wins, 6 losses, 0 draw and 2 No Contests. He competed from 1985 to 2005.

In a recent interview with Clifford Joseph “T.I.” Harris Jr., Tyson revealed that he has been working out. The retired boxer told the musician and actor, “I’ve been trying to get in the ring.”

“I think I’m going to box some exhibitions and get in shape,” Tyson continued. “I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three- or four-round exhibitions for some charities and stuff. (I want to do) some charity exhibitions, make some money, help some homeless and drug-affected motherf—-r like me.”
