Wilfredo Agupitan “Willie” Asuncion has been arrested. Prior to his arrest, it was revealed on Raffy Tulfo‘s show “Wanted sa Radyo” that he is the father of the baby of Ivana Alawi‘s sister Amira Alawi.
It all started on May 30, 2020 when Ivana called Tulfo to complain about Asuncion. She said Asuncion impregnated Amira and refused to give financial support.
Tulfo shared this to the “Wanted sa Radyo” viewers on June 2, 2020 but withheld the names of the people involved. On June 4, 2020, he interviewed Amira and Ivana’s mother Fatima Marbella and finally revealed that the culprit was Asuncion.
Having watched the episode featuring Amira and Ivana’s mother, Asuncion sent a message to “Wanted sa Radyo” staff Odette Molina on June 5, 2020 saying that he wanted to meet Tulfo. At the same time, she also received a call from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the primary investigation arm of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Apparently, the said episode was watched by the CIDG people who asked Tulfo’s cooperation to entrap Asuncion. Apparently, German national Helmet Axel Sima filed an estafa case against Asuncion in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines on February 27, 2018.
According to Sima, he gave Asuncion money to buy him 40 hectares of land in Ibajay, Aklan and 1.5 hectares of land in Nabaoy, Malay, Aklan. The German national said the land in Ibajay is already in his possession while he is still fighting for the ownership of the one in Nabaoy.
For those lands, Sima gave Asuncion 40-50 million pesos but the latter only paid around 20 million pesos. When the German national asked Asuncion to account for the money spent for the lands, the latter immediately went into hiding.
On June 8, 2020, “Wanted sa Radyo” received another complaint from Roselyn Baring, who claimed that she and Asuncion used to be workmates as call center agents and they were even teammates. In this episode, Tulfo did not mention anything about the plan he and the CIDG made to entrap Asuncion.
On June 10, 2020, the CIDG arrested Asuncion through a successful entrapment with the help of Tulfo at Timog Avenue in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Sima was able to see Asuncion in the police station and no bail was recommended for the release of the accused.
