Malin “The Herminator” Hermansson, 31, of Örebro, Sweden has successfully made his BRAVE Combat Federation debut. The Swedish mixed martial artist was one of the “BRAVE CF 35” winners.
Hermansson has been competing professionally since 2017. Before joining BRAVE CF, she competed in Superior Challenge, Cage Warriors, Bellator MMA and Nerike MMA Series.
In association with Romanian MMA promotion Real Xtreme Fighting (RXF), BRAVE CF held “BRAVE CF 35” at Berăria H in Bucharest, Romania on July 20, 2020. It marked the return of the Bahrain-based MMA promotion after going on hiatus due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“BRAVE CF 35” featured six professional MMA bouts. In the fourth bout of the evening, Hermansson fought Ana Maria Pal, 26, of Bacău, Romania in the women’s flyweight division, which was the only female bout on the card.
The referee put a stop to the flyweight contest after 2 minutes and 30 seconds in the second round. Hermansson submitted Pal via rear-naked choke.
This is the first time Hermansson submitted an opponent in a professional MMA bout. Winning at “BRAVE CF 35” improved her professional MMA record to 5 wins and 1 loss.
The Örebro native feels she has the opportunity to come back and fight at home since BRAVE CF will host the last three events of its European invasion in her home country. “BRAVE CF 37,” “BRAVE CF 38” and “BRAVE CF 39” will take place in Sweden on August 1, 2020, on August 8, 2020 and on August 15, 2020, respectively.
“I’m healthy and ready to go,” Hermansson said. “It was a great evening for me but it’s in the past now. I want to make a statement.”
“My time is now and I will not let anything come in my way,” the Swedish MMA fighter continued. “I’m going to show what women’s MMA is all about and I’m going to steal the show in Sweden.”
Like Hermansson, Pal also made her BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 35.” The Romanian MMA fighter now has 2 wins and 4 losses.
Six countries were represented at “BRAVE CF 35” namely France, Italy, Mali, Romania, Senegal and Sweden. Hermansson solely represented Sweden and while Pal was one of the eight representatives of the host country.
Ion Grigore, 42, of Romania knocked Mamadou Lamine Sene, 31, of Senegal and France battled it out in the heavyweight division in the co-main event of the evening. Enrico “The Killing Machine” Cortese, 22, of Italy submitted Romanian kickboxer Claudiu Alexe, 27, at a catch weight of 88kg in the main event.
