Enrico “The Killing Machine” Cortese, 22, of Gallio, Vicenza, Veneto, Italy has earned his second victory in BRAVE Combat Federation. The Italian mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “BRAVE CF 35,” which marked his second outing in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
The Italian MMA fighter made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 30” on November 23, 2019. He defeated Jorick Montagnac, 26, of France via unanimous decision.
In association with Real Xtreme Fighting (RXF), BRAVE CF held “BRAVE CF 35” at Berăria H on July 20, 2020. It marked the return of the Bahrain-based MMA promotion after going on hiatus due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“BRAVE CF 35” featured six professional MMA bouts. In the main event of the evening, Cortese competed at a catch weight of 88kg against Romanian kickboxer Claudiu Alexe, 27, who took the bout on short notice as the replacement of Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine, 35, of Lebanon.
The referee out a stop to the catchweight contest after exactly 2 minutes in the first round. Cortese submitted Alexe via strikes.
This is the third time Cortese submitted an opponent in a professional MMA bout and he is now riding a six-bout winning streak. Winning at “BRAVE CF 35” improved his professional MMA record to 7 wins, 2 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.
Cortese has been competing professionally since 2015. Before joining BRAVE CF, he competed in Livorno Extreme Fight, Kombat League, Fight Network, Super Fight League, Cage Fight Series, Apocalypse Pitbull Championship and Gladiatore Academy Trieste.
Six countries were represented at “BRAVE CF 35” namely France, Italy, Mali, Romania, Senegal and Sweden. Cortese solely represented Italy.
Alexe was one of the eight representatives of the host country. The Romanian MMA fighter made his BRAVE CF debut and professional MMA debut at “BRAVE CF 35.”
