Anthony Michael Huber of Silver Lake, Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States was one of the victims of Kyle H. Rittenhouse. They were in the same Black Lives Matter demonstration in Kenosha in the evening of August 25, 2020.

That night, Rittenhouse was one of the armed civilians who wanted to protect businesses from vandalism. Huber was one of the protesters demanding justice for Jacob Blake, who was shot by Kenosha Police Department officer Rusten Sheskey shot Blake in the back at least eight times on August 23, 2020.

During the demonstration, Huber was carrying a skateboard while chasing Rittenhouse, who was running down the street carrying a Smith & Wesson AR-15 style .223 rifle. The former tried to wrest the rifle away from the latter but failed.

Huber then tried to hit Rittenhouse with his skateboard. The latter shot the former in the chest.

Also present during the incident was Huber’s girlfriend Hannah J. Trecker-Gittings. A stylist at Wild Heart Salon in Kenosha named Danielle Renee Aguilar-Rasmussen organized a GoFundMe fundraiser on behalf of Gittings.

Both Huber and Rittenhouse were considered a hero by their respective supporters. Here are 13 more things about the former:

  1. He was born on August 21, 1994 in Kenosha to John Huber Jr. and Karen Bloom.
  2. He has six siblings namely Richard “RJ” Hughes, Caitlyn Hughes, Amber Beasley, John Gonzales, Jade Huber and Katlynn Norman.
  3. He was 6’2″.
  4. He attended Lincoln Middle School in Kenosha.
  5. In 2012, he was convicted of domestic abuse strangulation and suffocation and false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon.
  6. In 2018, he was convicted of domestic abuse strangulation and suffocation again.
  7. He had a forfeiture case for possessing drug paraphernalia.
  8. He had other charges that were dismissed but read in. These were for second-degree recklessly endangering safety, battery and disorderly conduct.
  9. He had a stepdaughter, the daughter of Gittings.
  10. From 2016 to 2019, he went in and out of jail. He was jailed in the Kenosha County Jail, the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin, the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, Wisconsin and the Racine Correctional Institution in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
  11. His childhood friend Tim Kramer described him as “a class-clown-type of guy” who loved skateboarding while another friend named Max Seebeck said he was “a really sweet person” who “always had a smile on his face” in an interview with Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
  12. His friend Justin Tawwater, born in 1991, told Chicago Sun Times that he was “all about street skating” and “all he would do was skateboard and make people smile.” The two often skated by the lakefront marina in Kenosha.
  13. He had been working to renovate and sell a home, according to Tawwater.
