Nancy Reyna, 39, of Los Angeles, California, United States is no longer an employee of UnitedHealth Group (UHG). This was after she was caught on camera saying racist words.
Reyna is Mexican and she holds a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. She attended California Baptist University in Riverside, California where she earned her degree in kinesiology and exercise science.
A fitness enthusiast, Reyna loves running and yoga. She holds a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. In February 2016, she joined UHG as a care coordinator.
On August 30, 2020, Reyna was jogging at El Segundo Beach in El Segundo, California when she spotted three African-American joggers, called them the N-word and told them to go back to Africa. When the women confronted her about it, she called 911 and claimed that she was being accosted.
One of the victims recorded the incident and the video went viral. While holding her cellphone to her right ear, she said, “I’m calling the police.”
“This woman just hit me,” Reyna said. “You guys are so violent. You Africans are so f—–g violent.”
“You’re an African, right?” Reyna asked one of the victims. “I’m trying to get a description.”
The El Segundo Police Department condemned Reyna’s racist behavior. The department confirmed that she did call them on August 30, 2020 but she was instructed to call the Los Angeles Police Department.
No charges were filed against Reyna. UHG has fired her.
