Sam Valdes Ajdani, 30, of Iloilo, Philippines is the grand winner of the Century Tuna Superbods 2020 in the male category. He bested 11 other male finalists.
“What was the biggest struggle for you in this competition and how did you overcome it?” Greg Banzon, one of the judges, asked in the question and answer portion. Ajdani answered, “The biggest struggle for me was the…”
“Okay, I love working out and I’m sure everyone here does and the biggest struggle was the restrictions, you know, not having access to the things you used to have access to,” Ajdani continued. “But then I learned to adapt to my environment, you know, create my little environment and I found that it maybe grow in a sense. I learned about my limitation, about my body and my mind so the struggle is always in disguise. It always really shows you what you’re truly capable of.”
The pre-recorded Century Tuna Superbods 2020 grand finals streamed online on September 19, 2020. The ceremony was hosted by Burmese-Australian television host Marc Nelson, 48, and Filipino actors Nadine Lustre, 26, and Alden Richards, 28.
In the female category, Samantha Ashley Lo, 27, of Cebu, Philippines was declared the grand winner, besting 15 other female finalists. As the grand winners, she and Ajdani will each receive 500,000-peso prize money, one-year membership from Gold’s Gym, 25,000 pesos worth of derma services from Dermaworld and 20,000 pesos worth of Calcium-Cee products and one-year supply of Century Tuna products.
Gold’s Gym co-presented the competition while Shakey’s, Dermaworld and Kraver’s Canteen were the major sponsors. Calcium-Cee and ASUS Philippines were the minor sponsors.
Before winning the grand prize, Ajdani won one of the special awards, which is Mister Dermaworld. He also won the Stay Strong Challenge.
Runner-up to Ajdani was fitness and lifestyle coach Erie Matic, 41, of Manila, Philippines while Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2012 Candice Ramos, 31, of Vigan, Ilocos Sur was runner-up to Lo. Matic and Ramos will each receive a 200,000 pesos cash prize, one-year supply of Century Tuna products and one-year Gold’s Gym membership.
The male and female finalists of the Century Tuna Superbods 2020 were revealed on March 15, 2020. The finals night was originally scheduled on April 25, 2020 but was postponed due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Both Ajdani and Lo are not new to beauty pageants. He represented the Philippines in Mister World 2016 in the United Kingdom and she represented the country in Miss Grand International 2019 in Venezuela.
Ajdani is a Filipino-Persian model, actor and fitness trainer. He stands 6’2″.
Born in Iran to an Iranian father and a Filipino mother, Ajdani was 14 years old when he moved to Laguna, Philippines. He earned his master’s degree in information technology from the University of the East in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines.
