Miles Ocampo, 23, Sunshine Garcia, 34, Ritz Azul, 26, and Jhen Maloles, 27, are the female cast members of “Sunday Kada,” a new comedy show that airs on TV5 at 3:00-4:00 p.m. every Sunday. Directed by Edgar Mortiz, it brings the very much needed laughter to Filipinos during the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The “Sunday Kada” cast is a mixture of veteran comedians and actors who are relatively new when it comes to making people laugh. Ocampo started out as a child star starring in the ABS-CBN comedy show “Goin’ Bulilit” from 2005 to 2009.
From 2014 to 2020, Ocampo played Gigi Alcantara in the ABS-CBN sitcom “Home Sweetie Home.” In 2019, she was nominated Best Actress at the Metro Manila Film Festival for her performance in “Write About Love.”
Azul made her television debut in 2011 on TV5, moved to GMA Network in 2012, returned to TV5 in 2013 and briefly stayed on GMA Network in 2015. She stayed on ABS-CBN from 2016 to 2020 before moving back to TV5.
Garcia is a former member of the all-girl dance group Sexbomb Girls. She danced in “Eat Bulaga” from 2002 to 2007 and starred in “Daisy Siete” from 2003 to 2010 on GMA Network and was one of the cast members of the comedy show “Banana Sundae” on ABS-CBN from 2015 to 2020.
Maloles is a former member of the ASF Dancers, a dance group on the variety show “Wowowee.” She also appeared in “Banana Sundae.”
The first “Sunday Kada” episode, which airs on TV5 on October 18, 2020, was filmed in Boracay in Malay, Aklan, Philippines amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The show also stars Daniel Matsunaga, 31, Jerome Ponce, 25, Josh Colet, 25, Jayson Gainza, 40, Badji Mortiz, 40, and Wacky Kiray, 42.
